13 Days Birding and Wild Life Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Negombo
Upon arrival, we will greet you and provide a briefing on your upcoming birding adventure. Enjoy refreshments and get ready to embark on an incredible journey into the avian world of Sri Lanka. With 234 breeding bird species, including 33 endemics, 209 migrants, 120 regular visitors, and 82 families, get ready to witness the fascinating diversity of birdlife that awaits you.

Day 2-3: Dambulla/Habarana/Sigiriya
In the morning, we will head towards Dambulla, Habarana, and Sigiriya, where you will have the opportunity to explore the rich bird habitats of the area. Spend the afternoon birding, and the next day, immerse yourself in the natural beauty, culture, and biodiversity of the region.

Day 4: Kandy
Proceed to Kandy and embark on a birding adventure at the Royal Botanical Garden. Here, you will have your first introduction to Sri Lanka’s endemic bird species, including the Yellow-fronted Barbet and others. On request, you can also visit the Tooth Relic Temple and witness the colorful ceremonies held twice daily.

Day 5-6: Nuwara Eliya
Drive to Nuwara Eliya, located in the picturesque hill country. This region is known for its endemic bird species and rare winter visitors. Explore the breathtaking landscapes and encounter the unique avian treasures that thrive in this enchanting highland area.

Day 7-9: Tissa Maharamaya
Proceed to Tissa Maharamaya and embark on morning and afternoon jeep safaris. Get ready for thrilling encounters with a wide variety of bird species. On request, we can also arrange full-day trips to maximize your wildlife experience.

Day 10: Bundala
Drive to Bundala, the first Ramsar wetland in Sri Lanka. This internationally significant sanctuary is teeming with diverse birdlife. Explore the wetlands and capture breathtaking moments in this paradise for birdwatchers.

Day 11-13: Udawalawa
Check-in to Udawalawa and embark on exciting jeep safaris to witness the rich birdlife of the region. Keep an eye out for target species such as the Blue-faced Malkoha and Shrikeer Malkoha. Immerse yourself in the wonders of nature as you capture stunning photographs and create lifelong memories.
